The glass jars are lovely but I was very disappointed that the lids have no grip and simply sit loosely on top of the jars. I’m also worried that after repeated use the cork might start to fall apart. Would have been useful to know the lids have no seal before purchasing.3

They are useful for keeping safe all sorts of bits and pieces, which can be seen clearly through the clear glass, so no more hunting for small items. The jars sit on a cork tray, ensuring that they do not scratch the painted surface of my dresser. The overall size fits a narrow shelf perfectly...in fact, 'perfect' is the word I would use to describe this fantastic set of jars with cork lids and tray!5

Material

What is cork?

Cork comes from cork oak bark which is carefully cut from the tree’s trunk. It then takes about nine years until the tree forms new bark that can be harvested. Since a cork oak can live to be aged 150-200, each one produces a lot of cork during its lifetime. Cork has several good qualities as a material: it’s lightweight, flexible, waterproof and naturally resists fire. We use it in furniture and accessories.
