Great Product - Terrible Problems With 3 x Labels Per KorkenAnonymous reviewerWe love the Preserve Jars (Korken) BUT the problem was, first taking off the 3 x labels per Jar and then trying to remove all of the glue residue left behind, of which, did not wash off. We purchased some sticky remover, of which removed all the glue, after 2 x applications and then we had to wash the jars, removing the chemical application of the remover and then wash everything properly again. 6 x Preserve Jars = 18 x Labels = 2 x hours later, completed. Unbelievable ! IKEA - You are so much better than this. I was so angry towards you for this complete waste of our time. We were going to return to purchase more Preserve Jars BUT after this experience, DEFINITELY NOT ! Until this is resolved.......3

KORKEN jars are ideal for preserving jams, pickles or other home-made treats. The aroma-tight seal helps to lock in flavour. And since the jars are made of glass, you can easily see what’s inside, increasing the chance food gets eaten and not thrown away.

Material

What is glass?

Glass is mainly made of sand, soda and lime melted at a high temperature. Tempering or various additives gives you extra-strong and impact-resistant glass that in some cases can be taken straight from freezer to oven without cracking. A big benefit is how glass can be recycled over and over without the quality deteriorating. Also, a lot less energy is needed to melt recycled glass compared to new raw materials. Our goal is to eventually use only recycled glass in our range.
