How to prepare for your appointment
1. Define your needs
What functions should the interior you want to design fulfill? Who will use it? Tell us about your needs and requirements.
Complete the booking questionnaire - Share your inspiration and details for your project with us when you book your appointment, with completing a questionnaire.
2. Show what you like
What interiors make your heart beat faster? Show us what you dream about! And if you have no idea, the designer will suggest solutions tailored to you.
Find some inspiration - Start by browsing our Room Ideas to get a better understanding of the look and feel you would like to achieve.
3. Measure and photograph the room
Take some photos of the room - This will allow us to get to know the space that we will design together even better.
Measure your space - We will need your ceiling height, the width and depth or the areas you would like the advice on.
Frequently asked questions about our interior design services
How long will it take to complete my design?
Your design may take up to 4 weeks to complete, please note timings may vary depending on the size of the project and designer availability. Your designer will give you an estimated completion date after assessing the needs for your space and discussing your project in detail after your first consultation. Please note, times for larger projects will vary depending on the size of the project. Please share if you have a completion date in mind and we will do our best to accommodate.
Can the interior designer use my existing furniture in the planning?
Yes, absolutely. The interior designer can make big changes with what you already have in your home. You can get suggestions for a new furniture or tips on accessories to add to what you already have.
Can you do home/site visits?
We are unable to do home/site visits as all our interior design services are accessible online only.
What happens if I need to cancel or reschedule my meeting?
Please give us as much notice as possible if you wish to cancel or rearrange your appointment. If you wish to cancel your appointment, please click on the cancellation link in your confirmation email or to rearrange, please contact us at ikea.interiordesignservice.gb@ikea.com
Can the interior designer provide interior design suggestions for all price levels?
Yes, the interior designer can find different ways to meet your interior design needs within your budget.
Can you design my whole house/multiple rooms?
Yes, we can design multiple rooms or full house designs. Please email us at ikea.interiordesignservice.gb@ikea.com with the details, dimensions and m2 of your project and we will provide a customised quotation based on your needs.
Can I change/revise my design after my final consultation?
We will be happy to make revisions or provide alternative options after your final consultation, however, please note these will be charged at an additional cost of £65 and should be arranged directly with your designer at their next available opportunity.
Do you offer a measuring service?
As we are an online service, we are unable to offer a measuring service.
