Tips and ideas for extra storage on the balcony

Using your balcony for extra storage can be a good idea as it helps maximise your space at home. Even if you already have it set up for other activities like dining and relaxing, there are probably a few spots left for stowing away this and that. Here are a few ideas.

Starting with generous shelves

A smart way of getting more storage space on the balcony is using the height of your walls. This shallow but sturdy shelf is great for storing your things dust-free and well-organised in stackable storage boxes with lids. If you want, there’s probably room for some greenery to brighten the atmosphere too.

Extra seating extra handy

An unused, out-of-the-way corner of the balcony can be used for hanging foldable extra chairs on hooks. Here, they take almost no space at all, but they’re conveniently accessible when you have guests coming over. Clearing the chairs away once they’ve gone is just as easy.

Rails for clothes storage

The height of the space can also come to good use for clothes storage. Like with these rails that help relieve your regular wardrobe’s workload. They’re also ideal for airing out your clothes now and then. Just remember to open a window or two on your glazed balcony.

Small smart multi-storage

Any wall space you have left over – like under a row of windows – can also be put to good use for storage. Sturdy storage boards like these are perfect for keeping your things well-organised, easy to find and ready to go. Clips, hooks and other accessories you might need are included.

The beauty of built in storage

A small table is always practical to have at hand for balcony hangouts. But why settle for a table that’s just a table when you can have one that doubles as a storage compartment? It’s the perfect space for games, magazines or throws for chilly evenings.
